EWR: Number Six, Pick Up Sticks

Welcome to the June 29, 2008 edition of Everything Worth Reading.

I'm thankful for the writers who submitted below. This month had an overabundance of bloggers who refuse to read directions--double and quadruple submitting, how-to and medical posts, posts that were purely video even though this carnival highlights writing. Wow, people, get with the program. However, among the muck, these writers emerged, sittin pretty with good good posts.

April Hollands presents Headbanging infants posted at Le Franco Phoney, saying, "Hi, this is my first ever carnival submission and I really don't know if this is my best work for the month, but I was worried the other stuff on my blog is a bit old to submit. Hopefully you like this one - or another."

How could I NOT encourage people to read something with such a title?

Myke presents Ian Usher Brit Sells His Entire Life on Ebay posted at Citizen of the Earth.

I hope you get to keep him.

Toni presents Jed's Guitar posted at Starlit Whispers, saying, "Fiction based on truth. ;)"

Judging by that wink, I get the feeling this is more creative non-fiction than fiction based on truth. Tricky, Toni, very tricky.

jkrane82 presents Generation Internet: How Google Will Turn Us Into Search Engines posted at We Op-Ed, saying, "A less than rosy examination of how the internet has effected how we read, write, and think."

Complete with a shout out to T. S. Eliot.

Michael Snyder presents The Los Lunas Decalogue Stone - How In The World Did The Ten Commandments Get To America Before Columbus Did? posted at Shattered Paradigm.

Good question.

Brent Diggs presents Powersaw Poetry - A Toothsome Tale of Love posted at The Ominous Comma, saying, "Simply the best Quasi-Shakespearean ode to tree removal and spousal appeasement currently available upon the internet."

This is wacky. I like wacky. Therefore, here is your POST OF THE MONTH. Way to go Brent Diggs. Man, that's an awesome name, too. Brent Diggs. You're gonna go far with that moniker.

JennH presents An Unexpected Independence Day Celebration posted at Mixed Metaphor.net, saying, "A fictional story about how a young woman reacts when her widowed mother announces that she is remarrying."

This is the kind of fiction that's selling right now, the kind that I can't write, but the kind that JennH can.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Quick Story & Other Verse (Limerick & Haiku Prompt) posted at Mad Kane's Humor Blog.

Everyone loves a limerick.

Oliver Chase presents mouth's clean posted at Brain Juice. This is about toothbrushes.

Makes you think, huh.

garry presents Naughty Thoughts on the Slow Bus to Cairo, She Seemed So Crazy! posted at Travelers stories.

A way to travel without traveling.

Matthew presents What?s In It for Me? posted at Conservatives and Normals . Com - The Blog, saying, "Why I'm finished being selfish."

Good sentiments. However, I still love me a lot.

That concludes this edition. Thanks to those of you who submitted within the guidelines of the carnival. Thanks for getting it.

Creative non-fiction! Hmmm. *wink wink again* Haha! Thanks for including me in the round-up. And now I'm off to read others. Cheers!

Great blog! Came over to see what you'd written about LeFrancoPhoney - clearly I need to buck my ideas up and then send you something from www.theswitzerlandtraveler.com

Thanks for including my story! This is a great carnival and I hope to participate again.

I am hosting the Bookworms Carnival on July 11 -- hope you will stop by and invite your readers to participate.

About my work, you said: "This is the kind of fiction that's selling right now, the kind that I can't write, but the kind that JennH can." Hey, do you know an agent? If so, send 'em my way, will ya? I'd like to quit my real job. :-)

Thanks again.
